What does LightPoint do?

Unlike commercial datacenters that were built at locations convenient to highways or business parks, LightPoint was intentionally located on PGE’s “High Availability Grid,” in a steel frame building that sits on multiple telecommunication carrier rings. LightPoint was built specifically to provide customers with the highest level of security and redundancy in a very competitive carrier environment.

LightPoint specializes in providing enterprise-level customers with secure, climate-controlled space, unparalleled network access, redundant, high-density power, and multi-homed internet connections. We stay focused on building and maintaining the best facility possible. We keep our business and our systems simple and easy to maintain. We set things up right the first time and then leave them alone.

We have experience in accommodating everything from a large cage for equipment that performs millions of credit card transaction per day, to a partial cabinet for a single server that executes highly specialized tasks for the U.S. Homeland Security Agency. No other datacenter in Portland offers more security, connectivity, redundancy, or flexibility than LightPoint. Everything is redundant, so any portion of our infrastructure can be shut down for maintenance without impacting the customer.

We custom-build every installation on our premises, which means that your critical infrastructure is not crammed into a pre-configured mold. The eight networks that have built into our facility (360 Networks, AT&T, CenturyLink, Comcast Business, Integra, Time Warner, Verizon Business, and XO) connect to no fewer than eighteen 10G paths(and that count does not include traditional telephony networks). Each of these carriers clearly understands the competitive environment LightPoint has created.
